This is a bunch of hikes around Sajikigadake. Here's some JP info https://www.yamareco.com/modules/yamainfo/ptinfo.php?ptid=10005 Here is the bus timetable to get to the last bus stop/trail head. It's called the Kumogahata Bus because the final stop is named Kumogahata. It's a minivan, not a big city bus. The link below has timetable and map - location - of bus, which is on Kitaoji Road (Dori) outside the bus terminal. https://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/tokei/cmsfiles/contents/0000136/136742/mokumoku.pdf The bus only runs a couple of times a day. Around 9am (08:40hr) and there and about 3pm (15:10 hr) home. If you were to camp overnight, then the first (only) bus in the morning to arrive leaves the Kumogahata stop at 09.15hr. So the bus trip is approx. 30 mins each way. I've never caught the bus. I always ride my bike 12 kms. lock it up and then hike any number of loops, then ride home. ----- It's possible to ride a bike. It's not that steep or far, but if you're unfit and carrying a backpack for a day or O/N hike, then it could be tough. It's a beautiful ride up the kamo river, which runs through the heart of Kyoto. This hike is a loop up and around the upper tributaries of the kamogawa which go over Mt Sajikigadake, which is just under 1000 m. Nice views. Big flat spot at the top. Good for camping. No people. Ever. The larger red loop I've not completed in 1 day. It's a massive effort. Not for the intrepid and very fit. The light blue loop I've done in the snow and averaged 4-5kms/hr.
